Cuzzy88 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I have a pair of Compomotive CXRs 13" x 6.0" wide with an ET-12 offset. Standard 108 PCD in black. We tried these as a quick intermediate measure between the standard track Westfield suspension and a full wide track kit. They definitely improved the front end turn in but in the end we opted for the full Wide Track after we bent a lower wishbone. THIS WILL REQUIRE A BIT OF ALTERATION TO YOUR FRONT CYCLE WING BRACKETS TO GET THEM OVER THE CENTRE OF THE WHEEL. They are in great condition and could be used on the front or rear to widen the stance of your car. I do have the rest of the standard track Westfield wishbone kit in the garage if anyone needs a few wishbones for a repair. £80 COLLECTION ONLY PLEASE
Cuzzy88 Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Sorry missed that key bit of information. Peterborough (work) or St Neots (Cambridgeshire)
Cuzzy88 Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 Anybody interested? Will stick them on eBay next week if not...
Greenstreak-Andy D Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Hi Cuzzy88 Just reading into your original post, are you saying this wheel offset caused a lower standard wishbone to bend? That would tend to put folk off IMO My previous Westie ran 15 minilights with similar offset and I didn't have an issue with std bones
stephenh Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Hi Cuzzy88 Just reading into your original post, are you saying this wheel offset caused a lower standard wishbone to bend? That would tend to put folk off IMO My previous Westie ran 15 minilights with similar offset and I didn't have an issue with std bones I can't see where he says that! In fact, I would have thought that would be an impossibility. He says he bent a wishbone, so decided to go wide track. You couldn't really use these with wide track, unless you wanted them to stick out "a mile" from where the line of the rear wheels.
Greenstreak-Andy D Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Depends how you read this.... We tried these as a quick intermediate measure between the standard track Westfield suspension and a full wide track kit. They definitely improved the front end turn in but in the end we opted for the full Wide Track after we bent a lower wishbone. [/b] I agree, I can't see it bending a wishbone, as I said in my previous post, but it could be implied this offset gave a problem to him, which would put potential buyers off. I'm sure he will come back to explain Agree this offset plus widetrack would be excessive!
Cuzzy88 Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 No the bent wishbone was due to an incident involving a very quick deceleration caused by a tyre barrier! The wheels were not fitted at time and are completely unmarked and straight! I would suggest they would either be great used on the rear to increase the track or on the front with standard wishbones to increase the track/grip.
