Captain Colonial
The Wench needs new HT leads, a dizzy cap and rotor arm, and new plugs. Well, it really only needs the cap and arm, but it's foolish not to change the lot when it's already 10+ years old (new coil a year ago). So being a Sunday, off to Halfords for the bits. Only to find they sell spark plugs but have stopped stocking dizzy caps, rotors, HT leads and coils. What the ? Stock plugs but not the rest of the ignition system? Ridiculous. Either stock the lot or none of it - stupid.
AdamR
I guess they only stock what people buy, so maybe its stupid car owner's faults for not replacing the parts they should (Obviously not your good self!)
Kit Car Electronics
What be this strange language you speak, Scott? Dizzy cap? Rotor? Coil?? You're making it up, surely!

jeff oakley
To b honest Scott you made two mistakes, the first was going to Halfords, the second was expecting them to stock "old fashioned bits". They will stock just fast moving items only and with electronics the big seller is plugs. A local motor factor will, normally, have those goods, if not they would get them from the company I work for, FPS, same day. Even if they did have the items in stock, the chances of them finding them for a Westfield is slim as everything is now driven by number plate software and our cars will have nothing linked to the plate. FILFAN
Shame on you Scott. Why on earth would you enter such a place. Have you been drinking?
John K
Shame on you Scott. Why on earth would you enter such a place. Have you been drinking? Scott was actually in the bike section looking at one of these... But then he saw one of us and 'realised' he was in for the ignition bits he 'needed'...

SootySport
What be this strange language you speak, Scott? Dizzy cap? Rotor? Coil?? You're making it up, surely! That's what the Yoofs in there thought when asking for these strange items. They weren't even born when these classic items graced the shelves of every Motor Parts Shop. Captain Colonial
Shame on you Scott. Why on earth would you enter such a place. Have you been drinking? On a Sunday, desperate times call for desperate measures - they were the only people open. Fat lot of good that did me. what that halfords is a bit naff or Scott is speaking in tongues? Why not both? Scott was actually in the bike section looking at one of these... But then he saw one of us and 'realised' he was in for the ignition bits he 'needed'... Funny guy. Looks like a good new avatar for someone... What be this strange language you speak, Scott? Dizzy cap? Rotor? Coil?? You're making it up, surely! Nope, not making it up, just enjoying only spending £28 on parts to make The Wench sing smoothly again, rather than spend days with a laptop fruitlessly remapping the ignition and chasing ghosts. New school is cool, but old school still has its place as well.
Blatman
Time for that Magnetronic upgrade. Never have to change points or the condenser ever again. Transformed the old clockwork atmo Cossie before it got the injection conversion. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID006307
