I was thinking that the workings of a differential was complicated and 'magic' in some way.

 

I was wrong  :)

 

The invention of the diff is really clever.

I dunno, the yoof of today...if you made one out of mechano you'd have no trouble understanding how they work.....

Had one of the very early technical Lego sets as a kid, had to build a diff and a three speed gearbox as part of the model car featured.
