Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Evening team. I am planning on driving from Durness to Aberfeldy on Sunday 7th June. Can anyone confirm where I can get petrol from on a Sunday please between the two points. This is looking to be Inverness.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
I am now sorted. Asda in Inverness has pumps that you can pay at the pump with credit card.
Onliest Smeg David
If driving the West Coast, the road between Durness and Ullapool is great... Scourie Filling Station has 24/7 pay at pump - was there 12 days ago Not sure about Lochbroom FIlling Station in Ullapool. Inverness is a definite as there's several supermarkets, I've filled up at Tesco on a Sunday. For fuel stops for you on route I highly recommend... Ralia Cafe - Newtonmore, Highland PH20 1BDTISO Outdoors - Perth and Kinross PH1 3EE also OK is Inchbae Lodge, Garve, Highland IV23 the Thistle Stop Aberchalder Invergarry, Highland PH35 4HN is better than it looks and owner is a big motorsports fan AND for a bit more, fantastic seafood and great Scottish Real Ales can be found at Kylesku Hotel - Drumbeg, Lairg, Highland IV27 4HW
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Thankyou for the information, that's brilliant. This is my hotel stop overs. Monday 1st June Tuesday 2nd Wednesday 3rd. All the above dates at Glencoe Thursday 4th in Portree Friday 5th In Durness Saturday 6th in Durness. Sunday 7th in Aberfeldy Monday 8th Aberfeldy. I love the top of Scotland but always done it in the BMW so garages not a problem. If anyone would like to meet up for a drive then that's an added bonus. Onliest Smeg David
If in Gencoe for three nights you have to sample the great food and awesome selection of real ales (IMO) at Clachaig Inn - Glencoe PH49 4HX The Lochleven Seafood Restaurant/Cafe Onich PH33 6SA does a grand shellfish menu. I also need to get up that way in my Westfield sometime

tex
if your going the west coast id recommend these roads - one of the best go do the applecross bit - most do it - but after that go out of applecross round the coast road - youll eventually come to a t junction A896 - go left to shieldaig. - keep going - stay on it all the way to kinlochewe - you can get fuel there - and food.. really nice. youll come to the a832 - go left signposted ullapool alternative coastal route - a835. stay on it all the way round to ullapool - where you can feed n sleep. ps use googles street view when working out your places to stop n stay - great tool

They have their own automated pumps, as long as you can pay by card. And the Scottish contingent will be at Applecross for our annual weekend later this month! Man On The Clapham Omnibus
It is beautiful; I've holidayed in Gairloch several times and walked the area a lot. The mountain called Slioch on the far bank of Loch Maree at the Kinlochewe end is one of the most beautiful in the Highlands IMHO. Walked up it en famille in 1987 or 1988... I had to go to Forsinard which is just down from the north coast by Dounreay in February once. Until then I didn't believe you could die of exposure on the British mainland. You could there, in about five minutes! Force five winds at sub-zero temperatures are pretty pernicious. Brrr...
