Uneven Ride Hieght

HI All,

I noticed when walking up to the back of my Westy that the car looked lower on the passenger side than it does on the drivers side.

I have had a nose about and cannot see anything broken or bent. The car was siting on level ground and I have tried parking the car in other places and get the same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

How does it look with ~80kg in the driver's seat? :)

A well set up Westy *will* look wrong without any weight in the car, as your weight will drop it 10-15mm in ride height at the rear right corner.

The drivers weight is such a high proportion of a Westfields overall weight, that to handle anything like it should, it needs to have all the geometry settings made with the simulated drivers weight in the car.

Take that weight away, and not only does it sit higher, but if you've a very keen eye, you might even think things like camber are out. Like Adam said though, plonk a driver in there and all should line up again!

...Some new owners like to get the geometry re-done at a Westfield specialist, so that they know it's both set up for them and set how they like it. Specially before going on to consider any other handling upgrades.

What they said, except if you normally drive with a passenger, in which case it is going to be nearer level, depending on relative weights of the driver and passenger!

One thing to check is the actual ride hight, my ride hight is correct but the there's a slight variation in the bodywork which gives it the appearance that one side is lower than the other.

its the chassis height that counts
