corsechris
...not for a Westy as it happens...only really need uprights, brakes, steering rack and column, handbrake lever and cables, possibly seats and wheels. Struck me an entire terminal rot box would be the best bet, then try to sell what I don't need. TFL
Kyle
Gumtree was best when I was looking. All the ones on e-bay, pistonheads and autotrader were spenny by comparison.
corsechris
Ah, hadn't thought of Gumtree - thank you for that. Probably unfair, but I always think of Gumtree as Scammer Central Cheers
Chris Hooper
I used eBay and bought a little better than the cheapest with a couple of months MOT just to wizz around in to check it over.
corsechris
I can see the advantage of that, not least transporting the darn thing if it's road legal. I don't know anyone with a decent car trailer so I'd have to hire something, so there's some dead money straight away. It's what I'm doing with the engine donor this project uses - buying a car that's really too good to break TBH, but can't get sentimental now! I hope my chances of finding a suitable MX5 at sensible money will improve come winter.
