TableLeg
I want (and need) a pair of Flared side panels for my build. Having looked at this before it appears that the 2x main fabricators of these in the past are no longer producing them. I see from various posts though that a number of people have like myself asked about where to get them. Are there any other owners who would be interested in buying some? I wondered if it was at all possible to find a company to make them for us. Personally I was thinking in GRP. If you have any interest or have any input to suggest ways to make this possible please feel free to chip in. Thanks
peet
Has anyone asked AA composites?
TableLeg
I think I did a while ago yes. Pretty sure they said they didn't do them. I'm trying to find the Email and info now.....
Onliest Smeg David
Many have just modified their original side panel. Looks good. Sure there was a thread demonstrating this.

Yes I had seen that but personally didn't like it.
Onliest Smeg David
Agree the rusults vary in appearance depending on fine detail of design TL
TableLeg
No disrespect to anyone who has done it, it's just not for me. I would prefer the purposely designed panels such as those like Mickmade used to make (but in GRP instead).
AdamR
Would aluminium ones be of any interest to you?
Rab (bombero) Reid
Would aluminium ones be of any interest to you? I've fitted ones by MickMade and swear by them but if requiring an affordable alternative, aluminum might be worth a thought as Adam has suggested. You could then vinyl wrap them in a colour of your choice!
TableLeg
Would aluminium ones be of any interest to you? Well I was thinking no, but on reflection maybe as Robert suggests if they were vinyl wrapped then it might work as I would'nt want to go down the route of having them painted for fear of not matching the rest of the bodywork. Certainly would be easy enough to design the right template and get them guillotine cut to start with though. I'll give this some more thought.
TAFKARM
I've got vinyl wrapping on my panels and they've started to get quite tatty round the exhaust.
TableLeg
I've got vinyl wrapping on my panels and they've started to get quite tatty round the exhaust. That's a good point Russ, I don't imagine the heat in that area from the exhaust would do the vinyl any good.
Rab (bombero) Reid
I suppose the answer is....it depends! I've seen vinyl wrap survive heat from exhausts. I guess as long as it's far enough away. Some exhaust exits in panels are so close even the gelcoat is discoloured...

Rory's Dad
My gelcoat got discoloured when its first owner/builder took it to the two Steves for mapping - I have a pic of the manifold glowing cherry red. The exhaust exit point has a carbon escutcheon to cover up the scorch marks
