Burlers Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Hi there Selling my black and chrome Image split rim billet alloys, ford PCD, 15" diameter and they measure 8" wide. They fitted my live axled wide body really well - they apparently came off an XTR2  They have a couple of chips in the black powder coating and the chrome lips need a polish, otherwise they're in good condition with no kerbing or other damage The rears are staggered, compared to the front, so they look proper bo Backspaces measure approx 135mm up front and 117mm at the rear Tyres are Toyo R888 medium compound that have about 3mm tread left, 195/50 15 Nearly forgot they have Westfied centre caps and dust caps - oh yes £450 collected. Located in New Forest, but might be able to drop em off somewhere across the south coast as I'm often driving around with work Link to slideshow of close ups: http://s1354.photobucket.com/user/Burlers/slideshow/
Burlers Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Bump, happy to courier them FOC to mainland UK, so a wee price drop to £450 delivered
Burlers Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Bump, price reduced to £375 delivered Just got my into gear and gave the wheels a clean and checked out some details: The fronts are dated 08 & 09/2010, whilst the rears are 04/2012 they're all E marked 195/50 R15 82V GG The fronts have about 1.0 mm above the wear markers, whilst the rears have a good 2mm above the markers, so on a westie, plenty of life left I tried to weigh them, but didn't have a lot of luck as the scales are missing, I seem to remember them being about 15kg a corner with these tyres on
Tim Reid Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 hmmm, tempting... I need to measure my current wheels to work out the backspace to compare. I have a wide with independent rear wishbones, any idea on the fitment?
Burlers Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 hmmm, tempting... I need to measure my current wheels to work out the backspace to compare. I have a wide with independent rear wishbones, any idea on the fitment? Hi Tim, I'm not sure on an SEIW, I know they fit an SEW and apparently an XTR!! We could always try them somewhere - I 'sort of' pass Reading every other week or so (ie no where near it!) Actually, thinking about it, would be easier for me to trial fit to a local mate's car Let me know your measurement thoughts when you can
Tim Reid Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I have just tried to measure the backspace of my spare wheel. I cannot do it properly because the tyre is on but it was 130mm if you take off about 10mm for tyre the rim backspace would be 120mm. I have 15mm spacers on the rear so creates a backspace of 135mm. How were your measurements taken? With tyre on of off?
Burlers Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 With the tyre on, laying a straight edge across the tyre and measuring to the seat of the wheel is approx 117mm Tim. Measuring through the spokes there's about 93mm from the same seat face to the outer edge across the tyre, if that makes sense. I'll put the wheels in my car tomorrow and could try to drop them by late afternoon Thursday 30th if you text or call me to give me an address; I'll PM you my number
Adrian R Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hi Burlers, these are just what I have been looking for, if you do not sell to Tim I will have them. I am also near the New Forest so could pick up.
Burlers Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Cheers Adrian, am dropping them off to Tim sometime next Tuesday, if no good for him I'll let you know :-D
Adrian R Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 They are split rims so plenty of options to make them fit it depends how far you want to go. I have the same type of car as Tim but I am keen to make them fit within reason. Look forward to hearing from you.
Tim Reid Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Adrian, while you are correct that physically you can change all three sections I have researched the costs by speaking to Image and compared to having a new set made specifically for your car Chris would have to drop his price to next to nothing for us. A buyer who had a car that they fitted to would be willing to pay much more. Rim sections are £90 to £160 plus VAT, plus rebuild costs. If you replaced just 1 rim section on each wheel (taking the lower priced rim sections at £100) the rework would cost around £800, then £375 to Chris, to a total of £1,175 vs. new wheels at £250 plus VAT so £1,200 a set. As long as they fit my car and the condition is acceptable I will buy them but I'm not personally going for replacement of rim sections.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 What Tim said. These are great value, and a very reasonable price, but only if they work for you as is. (Says someone on a wheel hunt at the moment). If you wanted to refurb and change any of the rim sections, it quickly looses any advantage. Spot someone else who looked into using them!)
