jeff oakley Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Well I just watched what was without doubt the most embarrassing display of begging I have ever seen. If this bunch is the best to take our country forward then we really are in trouble. Just my quick summation, Green Leader, What am I doing here? Why all these hard questions? I thought we were talking about Tofu. SNP, I hate everyone but the Scottish. I admit I want independence, but as I lost the vote I will now screw the rest of you for everything I can get until you are so hacked off you will beg us to go. Plaid Cymru. I wish I was as good as Nichola. I want what she has. UKIP Yes I debate well but even I don't believe we can make a big difference as they are all against me. Libdem. God I wish I had not gone into a coalition they all hate me now. Labour. Ignore facts, look like Gromit a lot, keep saying tax the rich, NHS, zero hours borrow lots more. Tories. Jeez I am so bad I cannot beat this bunch of losers. Where are the inspirational leaders we need? Which one would you want to fight for you? 1 Quote
Gerry H Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 That's a pretty accurate summary. A few years ago there was an on-line petition for Jeremy Clarkson for PM. I wonder if he's available now his work load has eased Quote
s2rrr Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Good summation, no real inspiration, the old adage of the main parties all being the same applies its a matter of whose hands you feel most confident in or is that the party who you feel least uninspired by. And the usual fracking protester goodness me. Bob Quote
Petemac Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Why prey tell do they call it the "LEADERS" debate I do not think for one minute any of them has the ability to lead us anywhere other than astray, most of them are totally geographically bewildered and have been for a long time. IMHO. Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I cant really believe any of them and they always manage to use different statistics. Or, they use the same stats but put a different slant on them. I still don't know who I will vote for! Quote
s2rrr Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Someone unfortunately has to have the job and we have to vote someone in. If this is the best then we are in some trouble but that's democracy. Bob Quote
Matta Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I had a choice - watch this bunch of losers, or tax the Westie and go for the first run of the year. Car is going well! Quote
Petemac Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 For once in all my years of voting I feel the same. So I know how you feel Terry. Pete Quote
Welly Jen Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Vote WellyJen for prime minister, god empress and supreme despotic dictator of the UK! Official campaign motto: "I probably won't be worse than any of the other lot" Quote
Petemac Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I think I'll vote for her indoors, after all, she is always right, she knows what she wants, when she wants it, doesn't care how much it costs, and will fight tooth and nail until she gets it, and even more, let's me go any where I want, when I want, and doesn't care how long for I go for as long as I'm safe. Good vote or what guys?? Quote
jeff oakley Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 I do blame the media and our lack of interest in what is a very important matter. Leaders now have to look good, Even Nicola Sturgeon scrubbed up well last night, but the Welsh girl obviously had one of those special mirrors in her room. So what happens is we get photogenic none descript people who can avoid saying anything controversial in a sound bite. A leader like Churchill who looked like he was chewing a wasp and spoke with a pause so long they could run adverts now, would never get elected. A fat bald bloke, who smokes suffers depression, not a chance. So we got the Blair effect, vacuous self serving liars are those who seem to get on. Milliband to me bucks all trends, he is neither photogenic, good at sound bites or a convincing liar so he is a none starter for most. God knows where this will end up, but my greatest wish is for the Green party MP to be unseated, but in Brighton home to a huge Student population, a very cosmopolitan lifestyle it is probably the only place they have any hope. If that happens we might stop giving oxygen to the morons Quote
Mooch Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Milliband looked like he was being remotely controlled for the entire evening. He was trying to be so sincere by looking straight at the camera to connect with 'the people that matter, the hardworking families at home' that he looked completely insincere throughout. Over rehearsed or what? Farage was the only one offering anything different from the other 6. Nicola Sturgeon gave the most assured performance, but wait for the calls for an English parliament to reach fever pitch if they demolish Scottish Labour like I think they will. Quote
alexander72 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 my 16 year old son commented today - "it sounds like they all pretty much want the same thing, decent life, NHS, jobs for all, and so on... why all the beef? they should just have a chat and let each party look after each favourite subject"... simples Quote
