tkm_dave Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I've got an Elite IL200 5-speed 'box for sale that has been trial fitted but never used and is needing a good home...It's the bare 'box so it's ideal for a paddle shift conversion. No shift lever or position sensor but does come with a couple of input shafts and an input shaft sleeve. Both input shafts are Ford RS2000 spec, one for a plain bearing (already in the input shaft sleeve) and the other for a sealed bearing on a hydraulic clutch it seems. The input shaft simply pushes in and locates with a snap ring so it's easily changed for another model if necessary. It has a 2.58 first gear and direct drive (1.00) top gear. Type 9 bolt pattern to the casing. The box is a couple of years old so has a little surface rust on the output flange but it's purely cosmetic. It has been trial fitted to a car but never used, still dry inside and even comes in the original Elite shipping crate.Ideal for someone putting together a super light car or wanting to save a few kg as the 'box only weighs 19.90kg including input shaft. Can post pretty much anywhere in UK or abroad through work's UPS account at very reasonable prices.Open to sensible offers or happy to answer any questions by PM. o7739 o18 671
Paul Aspden Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'm using the same gearbox on my Vx1600xe with 200bhp, makes proper use of the engine and a nice slick sequential shift. These light gearboxes are ideal for cars with less than 200ft/lbs torque. Does the box have drop gears fitted or is it 1:1?
tkm_dave Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Thanks Paul, your car is a great example of how to put these boxes to best use! It's 1:1 drop gears so 2.58 and direct drive top gear is exactly what you get, simples.
tkm_dave Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Deposit taken, thanks for all the enquiries
