Perfect day

So:

Wake up in the morning, take dogs for  a walk and see through a perfectly timed gap in the clouds, an 85% solar eclipse. The haze/smog just being just thick enough to allow viewing with the naked eye.

Trip to Malmesbury. Pay in unexpected £1100 tax refund

Wife comes home early from works first aid course..no one at home but us....nuff said

Drag Westy out of garage post winter lay up. Polish bodywork, check her over and tweak stuff,  she fires up first time after x months of inactivity..runs sweet as a nut during shake down blat around local villages.  Think about renewing tax..ahem....Receive several comments that neighbours about the noise - they knew it was me.....hee hee

Meet up with old and wise men of the village for beers at the local pub at 5pm.  Wise men not available, so go with old gits who turn up...several beers......lots of quality banter....

Back home to find wife of 30 years has cooked up a wonderful chilli just in time for my return.

What a perfect day.......

Can anyone top it?

I cant top that Mike!!!

But

My new short motor and tuned head appear to be running sweetly, just a few more jobs to do and then I can give it a road test sometime over the weekend. Back up and running 2 weeks after the failure is not bad in my book :)
