Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 After all the build up, was a bit disappointed really. Managed to catch it through a break in the clouds, but just wasn't as dark as I was expecting - nothing like the '99 one, whic was a really surreal experience; it went surprisingly twilighty back then, with the animals in the fields around the site I was on starting to get ready for sleep, birds starting to roost etc. Quote
corsechris Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Was a disappointing view near Evesham too, just a few glimpses through gaps in the cloud cover. Had a grand view of the almost total one in '99 though. Everyone at our place gathered on the roof of one of the main buildings. Funny, only the night before, I was reading and there was a line where a character in the book commented how he found the excitement about eclipses pointless - "just a matter of perspective and celestial mechanics". It was nice to see, but I confess I don't get too excited about them. The hype on TV etc this year was remarkable..... Quote
