Currently stood outside with welding mask on (knew it would come in handy one day). Lovely clear skies in worcestershire.

Where are these clear skies you speak of? :suspect:

Nothing but cloud in the middle of Worcester!!! :(

We had just the right level of cloud to make a natural filter here in Wiltshire.  We could see the eclipse very well when the gaps in the thicker cloud allowed.

My mates never seen one (lucky sod far too young) so I told him they can be quite scary and send things like hail storms that batter the hell out of your car and put massive dents in it.  The look of fear when it started was a sight to behold.

Up here, the sun came out of the clouds just AFTER it was all over ... never mind, I did look good in the welding mask (so the missus said)

One of the few times in your life that you can stand outside with a welding mask on and nobody says anything.

The eclipse was beautiful and makes you realise how we are so insignificant we really are. I handed welding shields out to all the staff and everyone was in awe. A fantastic morning. The wifey got all her nursery kids watching it on the tv, all loved it and we're asking many questions, this can only be a good thing in a child's education.

Boring just like last time. Go outside all excited about it then come back in wondering why. Must be some stupid primative part of the brain that gets all excited. A bit like playing with fire.

Years ago when we last had a full eclipse I worked in an office, a very prim and proper girl who thought she knew everything stood up and warned everyone not to look directly at the sun as it would burn their RECTUM, she couldn't understand why everyone collapsed in laughter!!!!!

Totally ditto... The morning looked promising so I called a bunch of Swedish blokes I was supposed to phone at 0930 to delay it a bit.

They had all forgot so ran out to watch and then the cloud came over my house.

So I had to listen to them all saying how cool it was when I saw nowt...

46 years old, a science geek and still not seen one...
