Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hello. Does anyone have a screen channel that sits on top of the windscreen that they no longer require. Westfield told me two weeks to be in stock and that was two weeks ago. Today I have been told another two weeks. The channel needs to be clean and undamaged.
CrisisWolf Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hmmm I ordered one and they said should be in soon (and for collection when I see them at the open day)
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Hi Rich. Well Soft Bits are making me a couple of items for my trip to Scotland and I am just not sure that Westfield will deliver the goods as stated. I will ring them again tomorrow to see if I get a different story again.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Hello. Westfield do not have them in as yet and not sure when. I am still needing one if anyone has one please.
CrisisWolf Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Seriously tempted to get something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301189771802?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=600254971415&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT £10, wont snap in half (I've done that to two now) and the edge poppers will hold it down. Otherwise I don't know what would be wrong with the Caterham route - no bar just poppers onto the windscreen all the way along.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Westfield now have them in stock.
SootySport Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Those channels are pain in the neck. Mine was broken in the middle 3 years ago but still holds the hood front down with a cleverly made aluminium clamp and thumb screw. Makes the hood easier to fold up as well, I might add.
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Hi. That's the same as on my full hood. I aso secure it with a bracket on the Middle. I need another channel for a half hood.
dhutch Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 .... I don't know what would be wrong with the Caterham route - no bar just poppers onto the windscreen all the way along. Fine when the car is stationary, but you get wind and hence droplets coming through the gap and firing into your eyes as soon as you hit any speed at all. That's how it is on the narrow-bodies.
