Odyssey pc680 battery fitment

Recommended Posts

I currently have a halfords battery in my Westfield, it's a small one, all I could get to fit in the battery tray at the time, but it struggles to start my 2.0 Zetec, especially from cold

I've done a search about & it looks like the Odyssey pc680 battery is a popular choice, my question is does it fit on the stock westfield battery tray ? Or do I need to change the battery tray, I'm also looking to use the over bracket that can be bought with the battery, also I will need to change the terminals

Any pictures of the battery in place would be greatly apreciated

Thanks in advance

the battery over bracket makes a neat job of fitting the PC680

You can just screw in some M6 bolts and the cut head and thread to required stud + ve and - ve length needed. Just needs nuts and washer to fix cables

It fits fine, have that on mine.  You'll have to take off the old battery tray and fit some rivnuts to hold the new clamp. Also the battery terminals need to be changed to the eyelet type, the terminal screws are very small, 5 mmm. I think.

Got one of those BCF

Starts my zetec no problem

Doesnt like being left for weeks though

These look good value - might get one as a backup at that price

I'd be concerned that a relatively standard car battery won't start the engine.  It could be a duff starter or battery.

I found an Odyssey battery that fits the standard tray lying down.  Although its half the capacity, as the motor usually starts within 3 pulls, that's enough.
