JOCKER
What ride height should my car be and where do I take the measurement from? Car is a wide body 2.0 Zetec Many thanks
Pistol Pete
Front measurement should be taken from the lower chassis rail by the wheels, factory setting is 5". Rear measurement should be taken from the lower chassis rail at the bottom of the seat back, factory setting is 1/4 "to 1/2" higher than the front. All measurements should be taken with ballast making up the weight of how you usually drive - either driver or driver and passenger.

Terry Everall
There may be an argument for using a rake of 20mm
Pistol Pete
There may be an argument for using a rake of 20mm yes as rule the heigher the rear is (ie more rake) the more oversteer you will have.
AdamR
Was just about to say that Terry, haha. You can adjust the handling balance fairly nicely by raising or lowering the rear (edit: as Pete just beat me to!). I have run as much as 30mm but now down to around 20mm, which I like (and gives some 'headroom' in case I end up running two up).
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
Of course ride height figures depend on what size wheels and tyres you are using and therefore cant be really quoted. Geometry is more important than actual height
Pistol Pete
Agreed John, the factory quoted setting are suitable for the factory spec wheels and tyres - either 13" or 15".
Terry Everall
I have always run a min of 15mm rake on all my road going cars with either 13" or 15" wheels and if you don't you get understeer!
JOCKER
geo has been done and the car is on 15' wheels. I'll go for 15mm rake. Cheers
Terry Everall
I would have gone for 20mm!
JOCKER
I'll go for 20 then - haven't put the shocks back on yet!
