Young Pretender
I think these are now considered pretty hard to come by since Aerodynamix and Mickmade aren't operating anymore. Westermann has some for a Caterham -I don't know how well these are likely to fit or how easy it will be to make enquiries http://westermann-motorsport.com/index.php?page=product&info=
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Probably better to get the Westfield half doors from Mogg/Westermann! (Sorry YP, couldn't resist!) The Westermann stuff isn't cheap, but is renowned for being very high quality carbon. They actually took over the old Fluke Motorsport business when Graham moved on, so have the same range, (more or less) of Westfield friendly carbon that Fluke had. Indeed, if you take a look at Graham's re-build thread, you'll see lots of Westemann carbon going on his new car; and fantastic it looks, too. Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
It's slightly complicated! Aerodynamix are on a temporary break after having a more complicated than expected time moving industrial units etc. they do hope to be back up and running later this year though... Carbon Mods; I've heard a number of back stories but don't know how accurate they are! So I'll stick to what they announced a few years ago. Many of their Westfield related products dated from their very early days as a company. Quite a few were made in wet-lay, whereas the company went on to really specialise in pre-preg. Several years back, they announced a decision to discontinue all their wet-lay product; for the reasons mentioned, this (disproportionally) affected the range of product available for Westfields. The pre-preg product was continued though. As a personal observation, I suspect they also took the opportunity to weed out a few pre-preg products that they either weren't happy with or were real pains to manufacture! What I would say for all the carbon manufacturers is that almost all of them seem to have more products available than their web sites advertise. (This may be because they're PITA to make!) so, if there's a load of bits you would like, always, always ring and talk it though. I know Carbon Mods for instance has been persuaded in the past to do some parts that are no longer advertised or normally made, as part of a big order for one of our club members cars! Terry Everall
I wonder if there is a case for someone to make these in GRP as they could be very light and the mould copied from a carbon set
AA Composites
I am currently making a set of moulds for half doors, and expect to have the finished GRP articles on the market in 2 - 3 weeks, so towards the end of March. I will announce in the traders section of this website.
