Chris Hooper Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hi So yesterday I ordered a SDV Mazda basic kit with some options. I have ordered enough to get the chassis rolling. The body will follow when needed. I aim to pick up the chassis last week of April. Now time to tidy the garage............ Chris Quote

Kingster Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Welcome aboard.Start a build thread is my advice, not only do we like them but you benefit from having plenty of experienced and helpful people looking over your shoulder to make sure you get it right. Helped me avoid a few schoolboy errors! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Welcome Chris! We've lots of highly experienced Mazda builders that can give you advice and help, Kingster makes an excellent point about build threads; they're great to see, but can really help the writer too, sometimes! KugaWestie Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Welcome to the Mazda SDV club, as everyone has said, start a build thread, it will really help with the build. Have you got a donor yet? 1.6 or 1.8 engine? I am not too far away if you need help along the way Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Welcome it's good to see another mazda build starting Quote
djm Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 From the invoice Mazda Dashboard ( to send out to the trimmers) Hi welcome to the club and choice of build! I am in the middle of my Mazda SDV build, although it's on hold at the moment for reasons I won't go into at the moment, and I will also be utilising the Mazda instrument pod and the Westfield Mazda dashboard as you indicated above. I have also been toying with the idea of re-trimming the Mazda dashboard before I fit it as you have mentioned. I've not seen or heard of anyone on the forum doing this before so I would be very interested in what your plans are to improve the appearance of the dash? I am open to any suggestions. From anyone! Quote
Kyle Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I'm also interested in your dash board plans as I'm using the Mazda dash. I was thinking about getting mine flocked as oppose to adding weight with trim. Quote
Mooch Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Belatedly, let me add my welcome as one of the Mazda SDV posse! Looking forward to a new build thread! You'll get lots of help and advice, especially from the Guru Smokey Mow and his Deputy, Guru Kuga....other minor deities are available, too. I can't claim such exalted status but I stand ready to help if I can! Quote
