Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hi all, Trying to plan my collection on the 7th and I've stumbled across a minor difficulty; "minor" being the word of choice. I'm only 23 years old and to hire a luton van apparently I'm expected to be 25 by most companies. Has anyone had this difficulty before? If anyone knows a good friendly van company that might help out, please let me now. I'm a member of the institute of advanced motorists if that would help at all. Cheers, Andrew Quote

Dommo Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Think I collected both parts of my kit in a long wheel base transit type affair. Chassis in the first collection, then bodywork a few months later. Edit: not sure if that will work if you don't have detachable arches mind 1 Quote
Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks, I'll give them a shout tomorrow. Good to know it can be done in a LWB, I thought the letter from Westfield said to get a luton but I'll try to dig that out again. I have gone for detachable arches so should be ok then! Quote
Kingster Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 You don't need a Luton. As long as it's a long wheelbase job you'll be fine. Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I used this, It don't look pretty but it was free. 1 Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 How long before you're due to get your Chassis? Quote
Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Collecting it on the 7th so only a few weeks. I really need to get a move on with finishing stripping my donor and rebuilding the engine! Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Are you collecting the bodywork at the same time? I brought my starter kit home the 180 miles home on a roof rack 2 Quote
Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Haven't got a rack on my car at the moment but certainly worth considering! I was planning on taking the bodywork back too but purely because I don't want to hire a van twice. Quote

Easier to do if it's a detachale arch tub.I've collected several of my cars on the roof Quote
Andy (Sycho) Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Yep you don't need a Luton van, picked mine up in a lwb transit. Picked the FW bodywork up in lwb vito at a later date, but I would guess it would all fit in a transit. Andy Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Iv had a full fw body work set in the back of my Volvo v70 Quote
