hawksa Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 A busy week - I have joined the WSCC and placed my order for my Westfield Special Edition kit! Collection date is early April. I will be building my kit in a single garage. Any good tips (apart from a good clear out!) I was considering building a rolling chassis stand so that I could work on it outside the garage whenever possible. Simon. 1 Quote

Andy Banks Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Not sure I'd want be moving the car in any state on rolling stand Quote
hawksa Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 Is that not what they use in the factory? Quote
Andy Banks Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Possibly but in a very controlled environment. You've got some of the lads round to help of course...? Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Not sure I'd want be moving the car in any state on rolling stand My rolling build stand is very stable :D Welcome to the Club Simon and also to the Essex area. if you're free on Sunday Lunchtime there's an Essex area meet at the lodge Inn at South Woodham Ferrers http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/112001-essex-monthly-meet/ 1 Quote
Andy Banks Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Ah! I had a completely different picture in my mind You could also build it upside down like Mark's other project Quote
Young Pretender Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Welcome Simon Definitely going to get myself over to the essex meet soon. Quote
darve Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I found my rolling stand very helpful but that was only moving around inside the garage Quote
darve Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Have to come have a nose at progress at some point Mark Quote

Andy (Sycho) Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Welcome I'm building mine in a single garage, not a proplem realy. I didn't have the bodywork delivered until I wanted it, But it is a bit tight with wheels & body work on but then you can just move it about then. Andy Quote
Master O Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Hi, I'm currently building mine in a single garage. I've built myself a rolling stand, as Darve has said it's really useful being able to push the chassis across to increase the space on the side you're working. I know this is stating the obvious but when you're storing parts, write the contents of each box on the outside so you don't have to try and remember what's in each box. Quote
KugaWestie Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I built mine in a single garage with no rolling stand or build stands Quote
