diesel ruling in EU court

Whats the rest of the EU up to? surely they have these targets too so are they all missing them and have these issues or is it just us?

It's not only the particulates but the nitrogen dioxide in diesel they're worried about. It's estimated that 29,000 in total die each year in this country due to various pollution - mostly coal power stations and traffic so something has to done. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-30119279

My brother lives in France, the French seem to agree to everything that comes up and ignore them all if it suits them. Evicting Romanians, they crushed their makeshift homes and caravans, a flew them out of the country. When the Luxembourg Foreign minster raised the issue, the French minister asked if they would like him to arrange the next flight there.

We slavishly follow every rule and if we have an advantage, like the financial sector which is not perfect but generates cash like no tomorrow, they want to cap bonus, knowing full well we will agree or lose the industry to Hong Kong or the US.

Germany are still opening new coal powered power stations, using the dirtiest coal from Poland, we have agreed to close ours to clean up the air.

Electric cars are the future to give the emissions as we can then use wind, wave, nuclear which are not as polluting if you excuse the building and things with two heads due to radiation

The thing that really hacks me off about the EU and their endless meddling and obsessive "targets" is that while we're told to beat ourselves up and that global warming is all our fault and have to jump to every new set of restrictive rules that screw individuals and companies into the ground, other major global countries make a mockery of our efforts (and probably laugh at our stupidity and how gullible we all are).

23 MILLION NEW VEHICLES IN CHINA IN 2014 ALONE

 

There is a key word in "Global Warming" (assuming it really does exist but that's a different argument) and it's the word GLOBAL - China must be laughing all the way to it's world domination of just about everything - we have to buy all our products from them because they're the only ones that still pay peanut wages yet we're the ones that have to jump through hoops to save the planet whilst they drive around in their smart new cars wearing their latest designer smog masks.

Personally I'm sold on the idea of climate change but not necessarily on the precise causes.

Those reports will get no mainstream press and if anyone brings them up they will be shouted down.

There are too many people at the top of the greasy pole that is climate change science. None of them could afford to make one slip as if one goes they all go.

So even when people do question the theories that are seen as facts, they gang up shout loud and the greedy politicians just hear the loudest voice, with the best trip and that becomes the policy.

If climate change is so bad, why do these scientists all insist on travelling to exotic locations to have meetings where technology is there to have meetings from a desk. Well East Anglia university is not as nice as a beach resort in some far flung country now is it.
