My first 'breakdown'

I'd examine what's left very carefully, if it's literally been ripped apart, the copper cores stretcher till they've given way, there may be damage that's travelled quite a way along the loom in either direction from the actual break.

 

You could splice a new centre section in, I think I'd be tempted to add multi-way connectors to join the front and back halves of the loom via a new middle run. Or you could join and extend what's there.

 

But, if there's any doubt about the integrity of the wire, it might be easier to just get a new loom. Or, if the loom is looking a bit ropey elsewhere, again, it might be easier to start again.
