Stuart Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 For the past 12 hours or so been getting this message when I click on View New Content. Don't think it's me 'cos I haven't changed any settings and it happens on 2 different PCs. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 It's been working fine for me across a number of machines. (The new content button' show I always navigate). Are your left hand column search options definitely unchanged? (I know if ever mine gives a weird result, it's usually 'cause I've caught a different option while picking up the iPad!) Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 FWIW, here's a quick screen grab of mine: Quote
Stuart Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Definitely not changed anything, but no matter what I select there it's not working - even if I select the past year it just shows one posting from 23/8/14. Yet the forum titles are highlighted in dark blue when there are new posts in them (that's how i know there has been some - and found this one!) Never had this before Quote
Yanto Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 It's working ok for me, it's how i found this post as it was in top spot. Quote
Stuart Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 How strange. Still not working for me on either PC Quote
Stuart Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Still the same. I'm not particularly a numpty when it comes to IT, but I'll be boogered if I can figure this one out. Nothing whatsoever has been changed yet it goes awry simultaneously on 2 PCs and no-one else seems to have the problem. Could make me paranoid this one. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 The fact that it's not working for you on two different PCs is indicative of you accidentally changing one of your settings here in the forum. Click on the photo Dave put in his post above and look at it closely, copying ONLY his two ticked areas of "Forums" under By Content Type, and "Content I Have Not Read" under "By Time Period". Make sure especially that nothing else is selected. Quote
Stuart Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks all - been away from the forum for a while as useless BT Openreach now failed three times to connect us up after house move. Seems they now can't find the cable to our new place (despite the fact it had a dial tone up until 2 days ago). Now been waiting 12 days since they originally said it would be sorted. Anyways - yes guys you were right, I had somehow ticked 'only content I follow' and, since I wasn't following owt, it never had any new content to show me. So sorted now and sorry to have been such a numptie. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 It's easily done Stuart, (especially for anyone who uses a tablet to read the forums. ) Quote
