BudSlater
Hi Greggs and Paul. I did discuss the bike carbs with Boggs Brothers but not for speed. All I want in a car is something that is reliable, brisk and that I can enjoy. The carbs were discussed as a way to upgrade buttercup to a more reliable state as I was told the bike carbs would require no future setting up like the webbers will. I was also told that the car would be more "driveable" so this is something I am going to read up on. Mister, I will have a set of bike carbs and matching inlet manifold from my pinto coming up for sale shortly as I am planning the duratec conversion. You interested? They will sell very quickly I am sure, so if you are interested, I will give you first refusal
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Hello Bud. Thankyou for the offer. I am still reading up on whether to go ahead with the change as there seems to be two camps. one who say do it and the others who say, stay as is. At the moment I am still deciding but it is not a definite no at this stage. what carbs are they and how much would you be after.

As someone who had twin 40's on and converted to ZX6R carbs, the 40s were in a bad way, but the driveability thing was just massively increased. Lose the pops and bangs but I get 35mpg going gentle and the mid-range is much improved
Sparkymart
Out of interest can bike throttle bodies be used instead of carbs? As they seem a lot cheaper than car TB
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Yes, a few use bike TB's, very good value.

Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup)
Hi Chaps. Thankyou for the advice. it looks like the bike carbs will be the way to go. I did look at fuel injection but "my word" it is very expensive............or something like that.
