Horn wiring, advice sought

I'm thinking about a more "urgent" sounding horn and have been looking at a Stebel Nautilus / Amber Valley Custer horn type.

A quick look under the nose cone showed 2 wires to my current horn.

Am I right in thinking that this would be a + wire and a - wire which means that the horn doesn't earth through its mounting bracket?

In addition, can anyone tell me if the horn has a + feed all the time and is sounded by the dash switching the  - wire, or if the - wire simply runs to earth and the dash switches the positive one ?

I hope I could work this out by trial and error with a multi meter, but its early and don't want to upset the neighbours...

thanks,

If it on a toggle switch it'll work either way

Mines on my steering wheel so switching earth makes more sense
