scottmk1 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 For sale is my black 2009 registered Westfield SEiW Mazda MX-5 1.6 SDV. I originally purchased the car from Classic Cobras and Replicas in Huddersfield back in June 2011. The car was well put together and I drove it home from Huddersfield to Fife in Scotland without any hiccups. The engine is the standard 1600cc Mazda Eunos (MX5) unit with no modifications and runs like a dream, the gearbox is the Eunos 5 speed unit which has the best gearshift ‘feel’ to it. The rear end is equipped with the standard ratio Eunos viscous type LSD. Everything on the car works as it should, and it has recently passed its first MoT with no advisories. The road tax expires at the end of November 2014. Mileage is currently 3200 but this may well rise slightly as I will be using the car on occasion. The car has 15” 5 spoke alloy wheels with 195/50/15 tyres all round in excellent condition, Aerodynamix CSR style carbon fibre front cycle wings , RAC roll bar, side doors and Westfield seats with 4 point harness’s. I have carried out the following work to the car: Fitted a 120ohm resistor in parallel with fuel gauge sender unit, in order to make the gauge more accurate. Installed window wipers and washer bottle. Removed the engine and gearbox to clean it up, this turned into a full engine rebuild using all new gaskets and seals, new water pump, head de coked and valves lapped in, and I also had the sump shortened. The gearbox was treated to a good wash, and new input and output shaft seals were fitted, along with the shift turret being cleaned out and a new nylon bush and gear stick boot fitted. The gearbox was then refitted to the engine with a new clutch release bearing, rebuilt slave cylinder and new spigot bearing and clutch fork dust boot. When the engine was refitted to the car I used good brand fluids to fill everything back up. I also carried out the coolant re route mod that is popular on these cars, using aluminium tubing and silicon hoses from ASH. The wiring loom was also stripped of any un used sections, with new convoluted protection fitted to the majority of the wiring in the engine bay. The carbon canister system has been removed. The brake calipers front and rear have been refurbished using all new seals and the calipers painted red, and system has been refreshed with new DOT 4 fluid as has the clutch. A brand new genuine Westfield carpet set in black has also been fitted.
