Update (10/04/2015): I have kept hold of this one to run in Sprint Series this year so no longer for sale.

2004 Megablade with a 2007/2008 Yamaha R1 engine for sale.

I built this car originally with a Honda Fireblade engine but upgraded in 2008 to the R1 to get the extra bhp for track use. This age R1 also has the advantage of running modern fuel injection with a slipper clutch as standard and no need to dry-sump for track use. The car has been in storage for a few years after wining class E in the Westfield sprint series. Its been recently taxed & MOT'd and done a couple of trackdays to make sure all is well.

I don't have time to use this (got another Westfield that needs attention) so time to sell. It's hard to show on the photos but the bodywork has taken a couple of knocks resulting in hairline cracks (see last pic). I have tried to reflect this in the price but all the same probably best suited to someone who does not want to damage pristine bodywork at the track or someone looking for a car to improve over time. It uses the standard bike airbox but others running similar vintage R1s have managed to get these under the bonnet.

There a quite a few extras that can also be included, a black rather than orange nose, alternatives sets of wheels etc etc. I also have a Brian James Minno trailer suitable for storing in a single garage that can go with the car if wanted.

The current spec is:
Genuine Mega-* chassis (never bent, diff cage has been strengthened by Westfield)
Original Mega bodywork + newer nose
Pre-preg carbon tunnel top & interior rear panel
7” Sierra 3.38 LSD diff
RAC bar
Standard wishbones/shocks/springs
Mono steering wheel with standard rack
AP/Westfield brake cylinder/front calipers
Westfield reverse box
New Gel battery
2008 R1 4C8 Engine with minor engine modifications to stop oil surge
Upgraded clutch springs
Power Commander for fuel tuning
Quick shifter for seamless upshifts
Tony Laws custom exhaust manifold
Trackday friendly (i.e. Large) Simpson silencer
4x Avon CR27 “WET” tyres on refurbished Ford alloys
Weight: ~440kgs (on light ACB10 tyres).

Would like to move this fairly quickly, so £8000 ovno.
Car is in Harrogate.
