Smoke me a kipper.........................., there's a 3 week wait for a retest if it fails

Posted

Passed...................Eventually, after having to take an emmisions test for the first time, failing said emmisions test (by a mile) testing again. Me arguing the toss about it not needing one, testing again, more arguing

Mild expletives, pass

Can anyone point me to the bit in their manual that says a Q plated car doesn't need an emmisions test, then I can attatch to my V5

You need to find another MOT centre,  this one doesn't know the rules.  Anyway, at least you can drive it now.

The rules are that any pre 1998 amateur built vehicle should be tested as though its pre 1975 for the purpose of emissions testing.

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/

It's in the car test guide, under the emissions testing flow chart.

I can't open that file on my tablet because its been pointlessly zipped.

Have a feeling it was section 7.3 page 6......
