Dibby Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Council collects green waste here too. They (or rather, their contractor) collect it, compost it down and sell it back to us in garden centres as compost with 'added recycled nutrients'. Charging to take it away is making money on both sides of the process. You could use one of those black compost bins for keeping the smells and flies down. Quote
Young Pretender Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 I wonder if I could sell it on ebay? Quote
Young Pretender Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Mulcher sounds good but then I would have to mow it myself. Getting used to someone else doing it for me lol Quote
Young Pretender Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 I let mine grow until July ish and cut in once, then whack it in my barn to feed to the horses :-) Is it true you shouldn't give horse freshly cut grass? Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Our green bin gets emptied every week all year round, it's a full size wheelie bin and it's for food and garden waste. One of the benefits of living in the frozen north. Quote
