Struggling a bit to find somewhere to find somewhere Westfield friendly for an MOT, near Brentwood.

Place I used to use doesn't seem to exist anymore, keen on finding somewhere that doesn't mind me moving the car about and sitting in it to operate horn, brakes etc.

It's a narrow with tight seats hence my offer to help, plus being on carbs it can be a pain to start if you don't know what you doing.

Any ideas? Weekend appointment preferred too.

A bit of a way from you but I take my Eleven to Wenden Garage in NW Essex. It's just by Audley End Railway Station.

The guys there could not be more helpful - pm me if you'd liek any more info about them,

There's also some nice cross country roads from Brentwood to Audley End  :)  :t-up:

Wenden Garage, Station Road, Wendens Ambo, Saffron Walden, CB11 4LB.

Daneholes MOT centre in Grays is excellent (01375) 373052 used to go there when local and my Dad still does as he knows the chap (Griff) Not that dear either.

Elmsleigh Engineering do mine, just you say, I drive the car onto the brake tester and operate all the knobs and brakes. They are just behind my house.    Bob is the tester and is a classic car nut currently restoring a Sunbeam Tiger V8.

I use a place near ongar. They're basic but did my Westfield and are relaxed about leaving you in the driver seat to operate the car

I use East Hanningfield Motor Club in East Han....

They ask me to sit in and twiddle with the knobs as they think I know where everything is - provided wrong when I nearly failed last year when not knowing the lights had to be on for the fog light to work.

It's all very well sitting in the car, but they were a little upset when I mentioned I had brought an old towel to have a wipe/clean up underneath and offered to throw it down to them  ;)  ;)  Its not part of the MOT sevice apparently  :d  :d

Ditto.... A few weeks back I was operating switches for the mot guy and it took him to remind me that lights need to be on for the fog light. I said "Sorry, don't really use them...."
