My Merc has a speed limiter which I though would be better than cruise control, not so, when you drop speed behind a vehicle then pull out to overtake you are suddenly stuck at the limited speed until you switch it off. It was a safety feature that could prove flipping dangerous.

The only speed control that works properly is your right foot  :t-up:

My son has a one fitted to his Ka  - was the only way we could get his first car insured at a price I was prepared to pay. Although its not directly linked to his (my?) premium like some insurance companies he does have a portal he visits and reviews his driving quality. He's green at everything except the angle he takes corners .. no matter what he does he can't get this score out of amber into green.

As I work in info security the overall concern for me is data protection, its tracking his every move, knows about his trips, it allows them to build a profile of my son. The scary thing was the insurance company said if I cancel the policy at 12 months and take a traditional policy the device will be left in, they won't sent out the Tracker guys to remove it, so if I sell his car at the end of the year the device will be active, still logging the new owner ......

Needless to say its going to be removed and posted back .....

It's a great system on the merc

If you go to kick down mode (ie floor the accelerator ) it overrides the limiter and will accelerate use it all the time in marked speed limits
