Ben-H
Hi, I've been building my Westfield SDV on and off since 2011. Haven't done much due to work and a house extension project that Mrs H said needed to come first!! So now I'm preparing for the final push to the finish.... I hope I can learn from you guys here from having been there and done it. Also I hope from my 22yr career in automotive, then later marine engineering, I may be able to offer a bit of help to anyone that needs it. Nice to be on board with WSCC Cheers, Ben. jonjh1964
Welcome and best wishes with the build. If you want to meet up with other owners the Dorset Area monthly meeting is at the Brewers Arms in Martinstown on the 1st Thursday of each month, 8 pm until 10:30 ish. If the weather's good they'll be 1/2 dozen + Westfields parked outside, might help with the build to see other cars in the flesh. Ben-H
Hi Jon, The brewers arms is 5 mins from home, that's handy! I'll try to get over for the next meet! It'd be good to meet some local members.

Ben-H
Hi Gary, It's a Mazda 1.6 SDV, that's the lighter better engine!! Lol... Sorry shouldn't start that one being such a new member! I've put a few pictures in my gallery, but I've yet to work out how to put them in a post..? I read quite a bit of your build blog here over the last week, I picked up some very useful stuff so a massive thanks to you for taking the time to write it up.
Mark (smokey mow)
Well done Ben, you've got the better engine although Gary will try to convince you (and himself) that the 1.8 is the best I see you've already started a few of the common SDV upgrades with the induction filter, coolant re-route and a flat dash
Ben-H
Hi Andy and Mark Great to be here at last. Remaining jobs are Steering rack Propshaft Fuel tank Instruments Exhaust Lighting Cycle wings Probably a few other bits too... Anyone know what the fuel tank is like to fit with the body on?? I know, should have done it before but I needed space so the body had to go on before I had the tank ordered..

As above, lets not start the engine debate - they are both good Pictures look good - is that a white camcover I see? I am glad to see my blog/build thread is helping fellow builders
Ben-H
Only joking on the engine debate, tbh it was just a case of finding a suitable 1.6 first! The cam cover is light blue, Gulf blue. I was originally going to go for Gulf colours, blue with orange detailing, but since decided on orange with some subtle blue detailing. Got to have your colour schemes! KugaWestie
Yes, colour schemes are good Now I sit back and wait for the cambelt abuse to start
Mark (smokey mow)
Now I sit back and wait for the cambelt abuse to start I'm not seeing anything pink on the car so that's a good start
