Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Assuming everything is fair and above board, because it's such a Frankenstein car, & he wants top dollar for it, he needs to provide bags of detail and evidence about what's what. So if its a modified Westfield chassis, that's what he needs to tell everyone, plus ideally have photos showing enough detail to spot the WF bits. People are naturally cynical and cautious about these things nowadays. Quote
Kingster Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 The newest ad says he bought it as un unfinished project - so he might have been duped into buying something with a WF book and chassis number. If the buyer doesn't know what they are looking at, I guess it would be easy to pass off a Locost/MK/Mac1/Aries chassis as a WF if the numbers match the book and say you have modified it to suit the amazing motor it has. Could be that the previous owner trashed it while uninsured on a track day (or whatever) and used a cheap chassis & bodywork to try get some money back? Pure speculation, but can't see why someone would ruin the looks of the car deliberately! One thing is for sure, it's not easy to turn a knackered 20yr old tintop into a 'new looking' car worth £10k+ using a nicked new-ish car - but you could with a Westie, as older well spec'd cars fetch good money and can (relatively) easily be 'upgraded' with bits from the latest model. Buyer beware - or get one from on here with proper history! Quote

Boot is now on the other foot me thinks. Quote
