Kingster Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I know it says "custom widetrack wishbones" and "bodywork is from various models" - but this looks more like a Locost ringer to me: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350bhp-Zetec-turbo-Westfield-SE-/331195563991 Especially as it's been "converted to IRS all round" too! Lot of money for something that just looks plain wrong! Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I'm not seeing many (if any) westfield parts used on it Quote
Lyonspride Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 They've put westfield in the title to catch more searches. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Well, that's...ummmm...errrr... that's unique. Quote
dhutch Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 They've put westfield in the title to catch more searches. Its more than just that. Could fire a question asking what the V5 has it down as! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Could fire a question asking what the V5 has it down as! I was wondering that myself! Quote
Dibby Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I already have a few hours ago ... Great minds hey dhutch! What could possible go wrong with a home-tuned 350bhp homegrown car?! And all you have to do is wind the turbo up to 500bhp, simple as that! £18k? Bargain! Quote
dhutch Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I already have a few hours ago ... Great minds hey dhutch!Indeed, let us know the outcome. - Assuming it as as we expect, bare minimum has got to be an email/report to eBay to it down. Daniel Quote
jeff oakley Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 It could be that the chassis underneath that is Westfield or has some in it. You can rebody a car so long as the chassis is basically the same. The conversion to IRS is probably a step too far perhaps. The pedal box looks like an early Westfield escort type if you look at the cover, so may have some or all of a genuine chassis. I think the rest is a mixture of MNR, MK. If it is a ringer then it needs reporting, but I would want more information. Quote
Kingster Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 I don't think the chassis is an MK - as they have the Catering Van (and Pre-Lit) sloping tube near the cockpit / rear arch area. Otherwise difficult to tell as the bodywork is so obviously non-Westfield and he states that the wishbones are non-standard. The rack doesn't look like an Escort type neither - more like the shortened Sierra ones MK use. Personally I think it's a dog's dinner and no way is it worth half the asking price (IMHO). Quote
Kingster Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 MK Indy surely.......Bodywork maybe, chassis no, unless modified. Quote
Dibby Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Apparently it's a Westfield on the V5, must be chassis only. Quote
Kingster Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Apparently it's a Westfield on the V5, must be chassis only. Or a ringer Quote
