TAFKARM Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Just got mine and having a play. The files Im getting out are HUGE, far too big to upload to youtube. What settings do you guys use? Im on: 720p 50FPS Wide Quote
Dommo Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Same settings here, then I use some GoPro app and Windows Movie Maker to edit them and reduce them in size Quote
FILFAN Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 you cant just upload the file from the camera as youtube doesnt like it and it must be converted using the gopro software. the easiest way i have found is to link the camera to the mobile phone app which lets you upload directly Quote
Lyonspride Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Check out VideoMach, it's free software that lets you chop/cut/edit videos and convert them to new formats, very basic, but very free. Quote
TAFKARM Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Ive sussed it now, i used the gopro app to edit and convert to a more managable size, if you can call 500MB more manageable. Still takes hours to upload though! Quote
M444TTB Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Uploading those videos reminds me of the old days of the internet! Quote
CrisisWolf Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Do you NEED 50fps for normal video? PAL is 25 FPS so that maybe a quick fix. Quote
M444TTB Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 It's useful when you want to watch your mishaps in slow motion! Quote
TAFKARM Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Do you NEED 50fps for normal video? PAL is 25 FPS so that maybe a quick fix. I did think that, but my options seem limited to 100FPS or 50FPS Quote
FILFAN Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 If you reduce the fps you will end up with blurring and distortion. Anither tip is do not let youtube do its motion correction thing. Quote
alexander72 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 russ - drive slower and it will upload quicker Quote
TAFKARM Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 russ - drive slower and it will upload quicker I cant drive much slower! Quote
dhutch Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Yeah, record full res, and resize.... Unless you know you will never need to use or store the larger file. Oh, and get a pair of large USB3 HDDs Daniel Quote
