Doug Dastardly Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Morning, I bought some autoglym HD wax with full intention of using it I've polished before but never sealed or waxed. Because it was £10 cheaper I bought it off ebay rather than autoglym's site. It looks a bit dried out as it has come away from the sides of the pot leaving a gap all round, and a bit of a crack in it too. Is this normal, or have I got what I paid for - some really old stock dumped on the bay? I was going to include a picture but I found I still can't quote, paste or link Thanks for any feedback. s2rrr Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Is it still semi solid i.e. can it be rubbed on . I got some wax like that the other day from Halfrauds and its ok. Give it a try, if it spreads on it should be ok as you say maybe a bit old but it would age in your garage once opened, unlikely to dry out completely but I guess if its old enough it would do. Doug Dastardly Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Thanks Bob. It feels very firm, but does feel as if it will wipe off onto a applicator sponge. I've realised you can probably see the photo in my gallery if anyone's interested enough Quote
s2rrr Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Looks a bit like mine did but obviously can't see the spreadability, made that up as I was having problems with spelling consistency but you will get my drift. You could poke a finger through mine easily. Try giving it a mix up, but may get messy. Whats the option use or throw? Bob Quote
Doug Dastardly Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Probably sums up the options for an ebay purchase. Although I could give negative or neutral feedback to warn others? I would want to be sure of things before doing this though. Quote
Quinten Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 That looks like a solid wax? Get a round applicator pad and rub it on the wax, then onto the car... It will become better the more you use it... Quote
Quinten Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 In fact, have a look at the video here: http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/high-definition-wax Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I just polished the Mini with normal AutoGlym. Good enough, it'll be the last time it gets polished. I even have to wash it by hand as the local car wash rips the roof spoilers off. So, probably last time it gets washed as well. Quote
