Jonk179
Hello, new member looking at buying my first westy. Going to look at one on Wednesday, it's on pistonheads reg W7wsc. Does anyone know any past info on this car? It looks good on photos, spent last 6 months looking.
bigals
Welcome, here's the link. Looks like a nice car. Not known to me but someone will no doubt be along who does http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/westfield/all-models/westfield------2000/2247329
Rory's Dad
It's plenty of money but looks good... Have you looked at any others in the flesh??
Jonk179
It's only the second one I've looked at. I've decided against it and will now probably wait until stoneleigh.
Captain Colonial
It's only the second one I've looked at. I've decided against it and will now probably wait until stoneleigh. Good plan, it will be an eye opener for you and give you a great chance to see all the variations. See you there!
Jonk179
Thank you Scott. It should be the best place to get a feel of what would be right for me. The more I look the more confused I get ! I've been reading the forum for the last six months and would say it is a great resource and a very friendly club.
Rory's Dad
and a very friendly club. You need to just pitch in and ask questions. TBH a Westy owner likes nothing better than talking about his car. There is no such thing as a stupid question - only a stupid answer.

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
We try hard! It's true, there is a mind boggling array of variations as everyone personalise their car and tweaks it to their needs. Try not to let it overwhelm you though; there will be cars out there perfect for you, the key thing is to find your way through the big differences, and not stress to much about the small ones. The best way to do this is to experience plenty of cars. Normally monthly Area meets are the best way to do this, as you get to see the cars, chat to the owners and blag pax rides! Nothing compares to Stoneleigh though, for the shear amount of variety. Both amongst the Westfields and the owners - or to be precise, what the owners want from their cars. Whether it's hard core track cars, fast cruisers or something to enjoy quietly on a Sunday, after a thorough clean and polish on the Saturday. TBH a Westy owner likes nothing better than talking about his car. Never was a truer thing said. The hardest part is stopping us, once you've got us going!

SootySport
have a look at Deako's Westfield for sale on this forum, it's your sort of budget.
Deako
Thanks Sooty!! I guess the track setup of the other car put you off? Something I needed was a full screen too. I didn't want to wear a full face every time I drove it. As mentioned mines available. It's a fantastic car, but I've decided to go with my original plan of a Boxster S. Jonk179
Hi all, yes I don't think I could have lived with setup/ aeroscreen etc as mainly for the road with odd sprints. I am going to wait for Stoneleigh to see a wider selection. My budget is quite flexible but not sure which way to go. I am a time served mechanic of 25 years plus and I am now more thinking of a lower specification car to run over summer then strip over winter with a dose of upgraditus! To be honest anything I get is going to get stripped down as I don't want to keep my hands clean for too long. One question is that I've never sat in a narrow body car, how much smaller are they? Bearing in mind I like a pie or two.
Deako
Take a look at mine. Very good, but plenty of scope for more power in the engine department. Cams, head and TBs would transform it to a 180bhp monster.
