Shaggydoo
I'm looking for some second hand race kit so I can get entered into a few speed series rounds this year. Don't need anything fancy but must comply with series requirements. Need a helmet size 58, gloves size 10, race suit to fit a 6'2" medium build and some boots in a size 10. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Terry Everall
cheap gloves available from Playskool and boots not essential so you can use narrow trainers
Shaggydoo
Ok, just helmet and suit needed. Both in a size 58 I think. Bump
Boombang
Shaggy there was a red 58 Momo 1986 standard suit on ebay that went for under £40. Worth keeping an eye out, looks like people often don't classify them properly.
Shaggydoo
Thanks mate, i keep looking but all seem expensive. Will widen my search to include 1986 spec now. Cheers
Paul Morcom
1986 Standard race suits tend to be cheaper as not within regs for circuit racing and rallying but are OK for Sprints and Hill Climbs. I managed to buy a suit, boots and gloves for c£80 and they lasted me over 4 years. I then shrunk the suit, or was it that I ate too many pies. Onliest Smeg David
Shaggy At 6'2" you may need a size 58 or 60 depending on brand! The ratio of height to belly circumference varies I'm a 56 OMP for height and width. A 58 Sparco for height but it's far too wide. Cheapest new are Racelidz from Playskool. I'm trying their's on at Stoneleigh.
Onliest Smeg David
Again helmets vary. Some are rounder than others. Arai are slightly narrower, & I'm a Large. But a Bell Medium. Again I'll be trying racelidz at Stoneleigh.
Hellski
I've just received my order of Racelidz gear from Luke and very pleased with both the quality & price. You deffinately have to try the gear on due to the variations in sizes between the different manufactures, I was shocked by the size of suit I required and would have no doubt bought a secondhand suit at the wrong size from eBay. Shaggydoo
I have given up with trying to source good secondhand gear at a reasonable price. Tried to order gear new on playskool site but most in my size is out of stock. Maybe I'm an odd siz combo :-( Will playskool be fetching stock to stoneleigh? I have seen a brand new astars sp suit for £180 which is fia approved. Looks likely to be my best bet I think. Thanks to all you guys for your info and heads ups on eBay.
