KugaWestie Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Wax then polish? Errr nope!! Apart from that, looks nice and clean. Err, it works fine thanks What my first post did not say was it had already had a coat of polish the weekend before, so it was further layering this weekend As I said, more wax going on through the week, so it will be nicely layered up Quote
Dommo Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Mine is still filthy from Castle Combe. Looks more like I've parked it in a field than taken it for a drive! Windscreen is clean though Quote

Deako Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Polish is an abrasive. It will not do anything other than strip your wax protection off. Wax, like sealants, is an LSP. Which means last stage protection. You do it last. If you polish over your wax your are just wiping it all off. Layering is done with multiple coats of an LSP. In addition to this, polishing only really needs to be done once or twice per year. This is providing washing techniques are good and LSP is kept topped up. I'm really not trying to slate your cleaning methods. Just advising that the order in which you have done things is incorrect. I am a detailing geek for my sins. Quote
