Captain Colonial Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 If you do nothing else today, set your PVR to record "Super Shark" on SyFy, Monday 31st March at 4:00 AM - you won't be disappointed. It's so awful that it's brilliant. There are so many continuity and scientific errors in it that you'll lose count before you're even halfway through it, but it features: > A bullet-proof prehistoric shark the size of a nuclear sub that can roar, walk and fly, and hates radio stations > The three most annoying life guards ever > Lots of girls in bikinis for no reason whatsoever > The handiwork of the worst plastic surgeon ever (watch out especially for a female Air Force officer with a facelift that would scare the Ebola virus) > The actor who played Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard as a corrupt oil company boss > A walking tank > Dumbest use of an umbrella as a weapon ever > A boom box that can power a huge six-foot speaker > A fighter plane that takes off as a twin-tailed F-15 but magically turns into a single-tailed F-16 with the most-useless pilot ever > A boat captain that drinks cocktails only a girl with an IQ of 50 would drink > The weakest oil drilling platform ever > The fastest granting of an ill-thought out wish in recorded history > Control panels on an oil rig which magically reappear later on a nuclear submarine > Wooden acting throughout > Best theme tune and lyrics ever - watch through the closing credits to hear it all Trust me, this is epically bad on all fronts, but so, so funny - you'll be rooting for the shark the whole time. Record it, come home Monday night, open a drink or four, sit back and enjoy. Partial spoiler alert below: Quote
DerekJ Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Scott, Did you ... Do your popcorn selling apprenticeship in some B rated movie house and become hooked on this kind of film? Get captured by some foul dictatorship and made to watch hours of these films to make you talk? Just not get out much as a kid? Come from some other planet where these things are actually documentaries? Have some kind of financial interest in the studio that churns this stuff out ? … I'll let the other members of the boardroom continue from point 6 Cheers and enjoy DerekJ 1 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Sky+ set! Pop corn and alcohol needed for Monday night, wahoo. Quote
