pickmaster Andy Lowe Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I have a single axle car trailer that should be for sale mid week 26th ish after I collect my new trailer fingers crossed I'm not parting with mine till I have a replacement, it's just I have the time today to write the advert So it's an old trailer I've had about 4 years It was used to transport a vauxhall rally car around The brakes didn't work at all I fitted new indispension units 1500kgs A new 6" x3" axle u section axle A new center floor in cheque plate Lights New mudguards fitted as low as possible to open car doors !!!!! Rear loading steady legs It has a winch that's not to good I've used it to carry commercial safes Logs Solid fuel cooker Tractor parts Digger parts Motorbikes Cars MGF, Yaris, Fiat, an A4 shell to the scrap yard And yes the Westfield to Anglesey, Aintree, 3 sisters, Harewood and the rolling road It looks like an early manufactured small car trailer, I've made into a flatbed It's bed is 5'6" x 10' It's length overall is 13'3" Overall width 7'6" It was black I painted it yellow and have just slapped some aluminum paint on it to tidy it a bit It has been a great little trailer, but if you want a clean tidy new trailer please look elsewhere It would still be a great cheep trackday sprint general flatbed trailer for someone Me if the other trailer doesn't materialize this week £500 I'm in north Wales an hour from Chester
Deako Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Does it have a chassis plate with trailer gross weight on it?
Deako Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Ok. Only going to be useful to someone taken a trailer test or passed before 1997, although I guess if Mr Plod wanted to get funny on an inspection, all trailers should be plated. Cheers anyway.
pickmaster Andy Lowe Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I know hence the price I've had many trailers and don't know how I would have managed without towing on my license
dhutch Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Especially given the re-work, I can see no issue with you or the new owner plating it themselves, to a figure to suit the application as long as it doesn't exceed the rating or capacity of the wheels/suspension/chassis. This is what I did with mine, after talking it through with ntta, vosa, and the local police. Daniel
