2.0 Zetec Silvertop

Hi all

Does anyone have a silvertop 2.0 they want rid of!?

Complete engine preferable, but bottom end on its own is fine too.

Or does anyone know a good place to source one, that's not a scrap yard.

Hi guys

The chopping a car thing I've done, was very long winded, but get your point it's cheap.

Silvertop is currently in the car, I got told to stick with the same as there are some differences between the 2, I think one is the oil pump location. Like for like seems an easier job.

You can use most of what you have on the Silver top on a Black Top.

Your current fuel system should work.

Starter motor

Clutch and Flywheel.

Exhaust

Engine mounts 

Alternator

Sump

these should all fit

What you will need is an alternator mounting kit for the Black Top

And also the Windage tray will need to be fitted to the blacktop

So a Blacktop is still a viable choice

But is the black top actually any better?

 

If your keeping it fairly standard, bar the inlet and exhaust, and perhaps a fast road cam. The latter is even perhaps easier in a silvertop as you don't have to spend ages messing about with re-shimming the tappets.
