Whilst out at the weekend I was trying to use my iPhone as a GPS by balancing it on a cushion on the passenger seat...  Has anybody found a good bracket for dash mounting their phone?

There's lots of cheap windscreen suction holders on eBay but I've got an aeroscreen so am looking for something I can mount on the dash - presumably by making a couple of holes - that will then hold my phone securely enough so it doesn't end up bouncing down the road at the first spirited rounabout.

I'm guessing I'll end up modifying one by removing the suction cup but be great to hear what others have found that works.

Cheers,

John

I used a suction cup which attached to my carbon dash, no good if you have vinyl but a good excuse for an upgrade LOL

Oh ok cool.  I've got a plastic dash so will look for a suction mount with a fairly low profile.

If you search your car plus iphone mount on google , you'll find lots of options and reviews on forums

+1 for brodit,

have not used the iphone mount but used a variety of other mounts and all very good.

Thanks all.  Gone cheap and cheerful initially: http://snipurl.com/28kgnxj

Will see how that goes and how solid it feels on the dash.  The Quadlock looks like being an excellent alternative if that one isn't up to the job.

The quadlock is also waterproof

I like the look of the Quadlock system, thanks for sharing the link :t-up:

I brought the Brodit mount and adapted another iphone holder to fit it - otherwise too pricey. The mount really is very good tho.
