Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Indeed. I've got one that needs doing to, along with a load of other bits. Quote
Paul Gibney - Lancashire AO Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Mine didn't need doing till I took off the weld from the top. Now it does...... Quote
Aerodynamix Ltd Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 There will always be a variance on a cost of something like this , my thoughts are it depends on the level of preparation taken by the powdercoater . Some will blast off the old coating , I've seen some burn it off , and some will get dipped , this does have a bearing of cost . We don't powdercoat on site but generally all used coated parts are dipped to clean and then finished off as necessary to give a brand new finish . You pay your money you take your choice , that's not to say that you can't find someone who will do it well for a reasonable cost , this being a visible part needs to be a top job . Quote
Paul Gibney - Lancashire AO Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Will shop around I think .. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Andy at Triple S's work is absolutely top notch. Just have to make sure I'm sitting down when it gets to the cost though! Quote
Terry Everall Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Another vote for Andy A bit biased cos I did buy his superb car a couple of years ago and the attention to detail is second to none Quote
stewart pickles Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 My car has cat widetrack (cat motorsport is another of andys companys) the powder coating on them is still in the same condition as they were when new. The front wishbones get all the crud/stones etc chucked at them and are still mint (11 years old) the rear wishbones that westfield coated have flacking all over the place, dont get me wrong im not having a dig at westfield its just the fronts that andy did are as good as new and are the same age. Paul Gibney - Lancashire AO Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Just dropped roll bar off £30 blasted and re powder coated pick up next week will let u know. Quote
Pantherman Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I dropped off my RAC roll bar ,2 screen uprights, Grill and tunnel top yesterday £25 ,when rings on Friday to say they are ready he will probably say 'is £20 alright ' ! Quote
dhutch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 With the north south divide that should be about £2.99. CoolQuite seriously, I paid about 150quid for my roll bar, made to my requirement, and powdercoated, from a reputable kitcar fabricator in yorkshire. Wasnt a very good price, and not the best powdercoat job ever, but its done 4 years before looking looking too bad. Daniel Quote
