CAP
After 13 years away from Westfields I'm looking to get back into one and start sprinting/hillclimbing again - looking for a road-legal Westy which has been (fully or partially) track-prepared - base required spec below, - long or fresh MOT- RAC roll-bar (rose-jointed - not the old welded one), might entertain full cage but it'll be used on the road mostly & don't want to wear a full helmet on the road (due to full cage) - decent race seats plus 4-point harnesses- 13" alloy wheels (spec not too important) but ideally decent (sticky) tyres- must have full screen (no aero screens) c/w functional wipers etc - tuned x-flow or Vauxhall XE engine (want to go back to where I left-off sprinting...) on 40 or 45 DCOEs. No throttle bodies or bike carbs thanks - decent exhaust manifold plus silencer & decent spec gearbox - lsd would be nice - SE, SEi, standard or wide not too important - QR steering wheel would be nice - no heater and interior trim is not important. Don't need weather gear - small headlamps - no pre-lit vehicles thanks Don't ask for much I know... but thought I'd put the ad out just in case anyone was thinking on selling - I appreciate that Westys have moved-on (in terms of BEC, aero screens and mapped powertrains) but I'm looking for something more old-school and raw. I also appreciate that all of the above 'shopping list' might not be matched in any one car but, depending on spec/price, I can ad/delete hardware to get to the spec I'm after. I've been watching all the usual places (and did have a look at Chris Bennett's blue 4AGE - great car but just didn't quite work out for me) for quite a few months now without success. I'm based in the West Midlands but am willing to travel (UK only) for the right car. Budget is up to £7k for the right spec car. Message me on here or reply to this thread if you have something which might work. Many thanks, Craig

alexander72
Ok Craig, did you see the original specification on the sale particulars ? Martin Parkes did a great job on it. I bought it for the exact same reasons you mention in your wanted advert. I do plan on competing with it this year and will be at Blyton, Curbourough, Gurston, hopefully Castle Coombe next month and possibly Shelsley if I get an entry - come and say hallo mate. Cheers James PS - it aint got a supercharger mind - its very "old Skool"
CAP
Yes - I did have a quick search and found the original ad and work done since then, all sounds good. Best of luck with this year's campaigning - will indeed say hello if I find something and see you on the black stuff. Cheers, Craig
