ralphy Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 The only problem is making sure the smell has cleared before SWMBO arrives home. Oh, and ensuring there’s no paint left on the grills. DAMHIK. Using the dish-washer for degreasing parts is a BIG 'no-no' too. Apparently. ;-) R Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Who says its a big no-no.. One way to get the job done. wait...is that the front door.....S*@&.. Its the wife.. I've got to go... Quote
Tricky Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I have used the oven many a time on the understanding that I make sure its clean, and she just about accepted this. But I stupidly crossed the line with the rest of the kitchen......................... I used to have a heavily modded Focus St and decided that there wasn't enough shiny bits available to dress the engine and felt the need for some bespoke stainless manufactured parts. So out came the angle grinder, lets just say that I was lucky not to be wearing what was left of the stainless bread bin! On a plus side the stainless looked far better in the engine bay than it did in the kitchen Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I've never seen an engine with brabantia writen on it before Quote
pete g Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 mmmm just ordered a new dishwasher . I might use the old one in the garage with the spare oven Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I'd be careful powder coating in the kitchen oven. There are lot's of warning on the kits not to do this as the curing vapours are not healthy. I bought a £100 oven from Curry and made my own dedicated powder coating oven. Not worth the risk. Dish washer on the otherhand ... fill your boots Quote
Lawrie Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Its not my fault a cylinder head just fits the dishwasher, with room for smaller bits like the cam cover on the top shelf. Use two tablets and run it through again afterwards. So Swmbo has to be out for over 3 hours Quote
NVP66S Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I painted my Mazda MX5 exhaust manifold with VHT paint. Then post-cured it in the kitchen oven at the recommended temperatures. Got a splitting headache and needed to vent the kitchen. Quote
