dhutch Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Any chance of applying a favicon to the site? Would make it much easier to navigate multiple tabs if we used one of our own design. Daniel Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 We did have one at one stage, (old forum, at least). But it was set up at a funny point in the web sites hierarchy, so it seemed to rarely come up properly. Quote
Andy Banks Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 It's there, just depends on browser and state of temp files I think. http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/favicon.ico Quote
dhutch Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/favicon.icoYes I see that, but that's not a wscc favicon, its an Invision IP.Board favicon, just like half the other forums in the work, including (oddly enough) the Invision community forums which I use a lot. Captain Colonial Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Having had a quick look backstage, and being a simpleton as you all already know, I can't find a way to change it from the existing favicon. Sorry. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I take it it's in the route of the main site? (www.wscc.co.uk) as opposed to the forum (forum.wscc.co.uk) Quote

Daniel Ah right, see what you mean now, so we just need to replace the IB Favicon.ico with the WSCC one (http://www.wscc.co.uk/favicon.ico) and there may be a backend script to force a replacement on your local cache ot just do a CTRL-F5. I take it it's in the route of the main site? (www.wscc.co.uk) as opposed to the forum (forum.wscc.co.uk) Yep it http://www.wscc.co.uk/favicon.ico but there is no associated code on the web page to display it. Quote

(www.wscc.co.uk) as opposed to the forum (forum.wscc.co.uk) Doesnt matter what 'route in' you take, the website has a custom favicon but the forum does not. Website favicon: http://www.wscc.co.uk/favicon.ico Forum favicon : http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/favicon.ico Having had a quick look backstage, and being a simpleton as you all already know, I can't find a way to change it from the existing favicon. Sorry. You just need to overwrite the forum favicon with the custom one the website uses. There is no way of rerouting the forum software to another favicon within the ACP, although I understand it can be done my editing one of the config files. Daniel Quote
Captain Colonial Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Daniel, you mistake me for someone with half a brain! Adrian's the man for this one. Quote
ACW Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 just seen this and resolved. For those that dont think so you will need to flush caches etc and probably restart browser and all that jazz. Quote
Andy Banks Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 ...you will need to flush caches etc and probably restart browser and all that jazz. Yep and it now works for me Quote

But thank you very much. Daniel Quote
Captain Colonial Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Interesting - I work on a fairly large screen for a home user (24") and the favicon appears a bit small...but it looks to me like a crocodile facing to the left with its mouth open ready to bite something. Quote
