peterg Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=29180 More pics in Autocar here: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/autosport-international/zenos-e10-revealed-autosport-international Looks to be good value for the performance even compared to Westfields never mind Caterhams... Rory's Dad Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I've just picked up a load of old Westfield Worlds from Greenandmean and last night while flicking through them came upon an article about a Westfield prototype. The magazine is dated Oct/Nov 1993 and seems to be a forerunner of the FW400 being built by Martin Ogilvie out of some CIBA Composite sandwich boards 20 and 25mm thick glued together with epoxy. Weight saving for the completed car was impressive from 560kgs down to 385kgs and stiffness was improved It does seem to me that the tub between the rear bulkhead and the footwells may be better made out of boards with tubular subframes front and back such as that proposed for the Zenos E10. SootySport Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I like the look of the E10, seems to the same design idea as the Mono but with 2 seats and a lot cheaper. Quote

Tricky Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I'm not sure, the front wings look as though they've been sat on with a view to being attached at some point in the near future. Guess it might grow on me. As Dave said above don't like interior, not much to look at? Quote
tkm_dave Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Not keen on the interior, but quite like the exterior shots. Me too. Looks like they only had one PC with proper 3D modelling software and that was being used to design the exterior whilte the poor bloke doing the interior was left with a copy of Microsoft Paint For the money it looks like a very nice piece of kit! Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Had a very, very, quick look at the Caterham aero seven concept car at Autosport, which is another of the "floating" bodywork designs. I have to say, I thought the Caterham looked a huge amount better in real life than in any of the pictures I've seen. (I'd still like to look at one properly in day light on the road before finalising any opinion on the Cat', but it was interesting enough, that if I'd never seen it before, I'd want to know more!) I'm starting to think that these floating bodywork styles might just be very, very, difficult to photograph, without loosing the effect. Good to see something different to traditional seven style looks or Ariel Atom clones though. Quote
Sparkymart Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I second that Dave, I've just got back from autosport and made a point of having a close look, and even the interior looked better in the flesh but it still was a bit of a let down compared to the outside. Quote
