PH1 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hi all, Been lurking since August when I bought an SeiW with a 1.9tdi that was brought to Aus from Ireland by the original builder as a personal import. I'm sure some of you may know the car. Have just started putting together the bits needed to change the set up to an F20c engine. I have the beginnings of a list of parts that I'm going to have to get as below. Any additions to the list or general hints or tips would be most welcome. Also any links to resources, build threads etc would be great. Many thanks in advance Piers Engine gearbox engine loom, ECU the key reader from the steering column and a key that has been paired to the ECU. O2 sensors and O2 sensor sub-loom from the body loom. C101 and ECU A connector from the body loom Instrument panel and wiring Diagnostic connector from the body loom. Catalitic converter engine mount brackets on the block rear gearbox mounts propshaft clutch slave main honda fusebox for the electronic load detector device/wiring. Norman Verona Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Piers, don't let him kid you, he isn't a newbie but an oldie (You'll get used to the banter) Quote
Speed Freak Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 youll need the pgmfi relay- it links to the fuel pump, and ecu amounst other things. take the propshaft from s2000, but only use the end piece- its a bit too big and heavy for what you need- mate the end piece to a smaller shaft. you need the air pump solenoid and wiring- you can scrap the pump itself if you fit a resistor. If the engine you source is still in the car- ask them to cut you about 60cm of wiring coming off the A connector, and 60cmfrom the rear display connectors- this will save you a lot of time cutting and soldering. 60cm is plenty to reach the alu panel where the ecu is positioned. the fuel tank bits not needed- the gauge will work with the std vdo instruments/receivers- the arm inside the tank simply needs tuning upside down, as it shows empty when full otherwise! rear gearbox mounts can be used- I did, although it is a bit tight- I used the mounting brackets, and bought 2 short but wide (regarding height restriction) rubber bobbins, and mounted them onto them. don't bother with main fuse box, wayyyyy to bulky. if youre going with a 3.92 diff you might get away without using a speedo calibration kit.... Ive got one now...To give you an idea of error- before when I was doing speedo 140kmh sat nav says 132, so its not too bad- my opel astra reads about 7kmh difference at this speed. otherwise you seem to have all bases covered. tim Quote
alexander72 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 yes i am officlally an oldie now :-) Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Welcome Piers; good to see another Honda builder! Timmeh has recently completed what sounds like a similar install to yours - retaining the Honda ecu and all the bits that go along with it. I'm in the most fortunate position in this country of being able to bin all of that and use an aftermarket ecu. Quote
pickmaster Andy Lowe Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hi and welcome sounds like an interesting swop Quote
