guy g Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Looks like you finally got what you asked for Richard!! Quote
I.S.M Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 I am looking into chassis Finite Element stuff, a lecturer of mine at uni approached westfield a few years back declaring he could drastically improve the chassis rigidity by adding max a KG of steel. This was rubbished, i have no idea why-but i know it works. I am setting about my dads first, as i am in the process of learning how its done! Hopefully i might make some money out of it to fund me racing towards the end of this summer and next year. Quote
RICHARD+PHILIP Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 I Think I'll stick to Staniforths book and his string computers! Doesn't Simon Mcbeath produce a racecar suspension book. His composite book was very readable. Quote
DickieB Posted June 17, 2003 Author Posted June 17, 2003 Simon McBeath did one on downforce and one on "Competition Car Preparation" - anyone care to comment on it? Quote
peterg Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 anyone care to comment on i Yes, Simon knows his stuff Quote
DickieB Posted June 17, 2003 Author Posted June 17, 2003 Simon may well know his stuff, but does the book cover what I want to know - ie the effects that changing different bits will have, how to know what to do when suffering certain complaints etc - I know how to measure and alter camber, toe etc - I need to know the effect and remedy!
